About Us
Welcome to Evolution Karate Academy (EKA).
Evolution Karate Academy is based in Ipswich and surrounding areas and was established by Head Instructor Leonie Kersey in 2006. EKA is a member of the Karate England Federation and affiliated to the World Union Karate Federation WUKF.
EKA teaches both traditional and sport karate and offers an opportunity to learn a great martial art.
Karate is a great way to develop yourself or your children and increase fitness, self esteem and confidence, whilst being part of a club that values unity. There is something for the whole family at EKA, as parents often train alongside their children.
If you are looking to become a champion, a black belt, have a hobby or simply looking to get fitter in a new form of exercise, whilst making new friends, then Evolution Karate Academy is just for you.
Kids Karate 4 Years Plus & Adults Karate
These classes will be a mix of 2 karate styles, Korean karate and Shotokan karate. Korean karate was originated by combining the arts of Wado Ryu and Taekwondo and Shotokan is a Japenese style. I believe each style has its strengths and therefore combined will give the student a great all round journey in karate. Our classes will help improve the following:

Sport Karate
We have weekly sport karate classes within the club for our selected Kata & Kumite squad members. These classes are structured to prepare and develop our athletes for competition. Our members compete regularly both in the UK and internationally.
